This policy explains what ShowUp collects, why, and your choices. We keep it minimal — we don’t need much to plan a trip.
Trip inputs you enter (destination, dates, budget, party, preferences) to generate itineraries. Your email, only if you choose to have an itinerary emailed to you or you create an account. Basic usage data (pages viewed, links clicked) to improve the Service. We do not collect or store payment card details — all payments happen on third-party partner sites, not with us.
Saved trips and your booking-checklist progress are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) so you can pick up where you left off. You can clear this anytime through your browser.
To generate and improve your itineraries, to send an itinerary you requested, to operate and improve the Service, and — if you opt in — to occasionally email you about your trip or ShowUp. We do not sell your personal information.
To provide the Service we share limited data with providers such as AI, mapping/venue, and travel-booking partners (e.g. Expedia Group, Viator, and — for in-app hotel bookings — Nuitée/LiteAPI, who process the stay and payment), hosting, and analytics. ShowUp is free to use and has no subscription. When you book a hotel in the app, payment is processed by our payment processor Stripe and the travel provider, and even then we don’t receive or store your full card details. When you click a booking link, the partner may set its own cookies to attribute the referral; the booking itself is governed by that partner’s privacy policy.
You can use ShowUp for free and without an account — plan trips, view your full day-by-day itinerary, and open booking links, all without signing up or paying. An account is optional and only used to save your trips and sync them across your devices. You can also decline to provide your email, clear locally-stored data in your browser, and request that we delete an email you’ve given us by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
